Do you offer 1:1 tutoring for Spanish?

Yes! There are three ways you can work 1:1 with me:

One-Time Consultation = A single session to assess where you are and create a clear study plan for moving forward. Ideal for helping students get "unstuck" in Spanish.
Pathway to Fluency = A 5-class package that combines personalized Spanish lessons with a customized study plan. Contact me to sign up.
Tier 2 Membership = Monthly subscription with 1:1 coaching, an individualized study plan, accountability, and full access to the Spanish with Kerry, including weekly live classes.

What is the Spanish with Kerry Community?

The Spanish with Kerry Community is a monthly subscription that includes:

1) Weekly live classes for Beginner-Advanced students

2) Consistent, structured Speaking Challenges

3) A Spanish Resource section with tons of recorded live classes and ways to practice different skills in the language-learning process.

4) A community of like-minded students who are going through it too!

5) [Tier 2 Members only]- Individualized Study Programs and 1:1 Monthly Coaching

What does the Tier 2 Membership include?

Tier 2 members enjoy all the benefits of the Tier 1 Membership (live classes, speaking challenges, Spanish Resource Library) PLUS-

1) Two monthly 1:1 sessions with Kerry

2) Monthly Individualized Study Program that includes-

Grammar Lessons
Vocab Building
Speaking Practice

What time are your live classes?

Beginner and open levels classes are typically held Tuesdays at 8:00 PM Eastern.

Conversation Classes are held Thursdays at 8:00 PM Eastern.

Dra. Xiomara Rivera Pagán's classes (Spanish Sana Circle and PR Listening Comprehension) are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:15 PM Eastern.

Are your live classes recorded?

All classes related to grammar or the language learning process are recorded.

Spanish Sana Circles, PR Listening Comprehension, Dímelo Conversation Practice, and Conversation Classes are not recorded to create a safe and supportive atmosphere for all who attend.

I'm a beginner. Is your community a good option for me?

Absolutely! In our Spanish Resources Section, you'll find our Beginner's Guide-an 8 week program to help new students set a solid foundation in the language.

Plus, jump into the Beginner Classes and Beginner Challenge Series to help give you real speaking practice at your level. This is ideal for those who want a more general starting point.

If you'd like to focus on Puerto Rican Spanish and you are an absolute beginner, we recommend our PR Spanish for Beginners I Course. This is an asynchronous course offered either as a 16-week course or a lifetime access course. This course was created in collaboration with Dialecto Boricua.

I'm not a beginner. Is your community a good option for me?

Our Spanish with Kerry Community is an excellent option for intermediate/advanced students looking to progress.

Intermediate/Advanced students need real speaking practice in order to put the concepts they've learned into practice. That's what I provide every month through the speaking challenges and conversation classes.

The Challenges are self-guided and you can work on them at any time that suits you. We provide feedback on your posts so you learn how to improve your grammar and pronunciation. Conversation classes provide the same speaking practice and feedback while providing students with the opportunity to practice spontaneous speech and overcome the anxiety of speaking in your second language.

Do you teach English?

No.

Do you offer tutoring for kids?

No.

Retreat

When do your retreats take place? Do you offer them more than once a year?

Our retreats always take place in March of each year. We do not offer additional retreats at this time.

How and when can I apply? Do I have to interview?

You can typically apply in May-June for the following year's retreat (e.g., apply in May-June 2026 for the March 2027 retreat.) We have a relatively short application and interview window so we recommend signing up for the retreat mailing list on our Retreat page to be the first to know when applications open. ALL attendees MUST complete an interview during the interview window in order to be invited to the retreat.

How much does the retreat cost? What's included?

The retreat typically cost around $2500-$3000 for a 7 day retreat. This includes your hotel stay, all activities done with the group, transportation from SJU to Ponce and from Ponce to SJU, breakfasts, dinners, and all materials.

What's not included: independent activities during your free time, lunches, and flights to and from SJU.

What kinds of activities do you do during the retreat?

During the retreat you might take part in activities like: daily conversation classes, group dinner, cooking class, yoga, historical walking tour, class with Dialecto Boricua, bomba class, walking tour of Casa Pueblo, beach clean-up, and beach day.

Can men attend the retreat?

Yes! We have many women in the Spanish with Kerry community so naturally about 98% of our applications come from women but we welcome applications from men and hope to have you join us in the future.
